The short answer is no. This is because Allermi contains a prescription-only micro-dose of oxymetazoline that is a tiny fraction of the dosage of what is in over-the-counter oxymetazoline products such as Afrin™ and it is paired with an anti-inflammatory ingredient.
In a tiny micro-dose as in Allermi, oxymetazoline gently relieves congestion and improves the efficacy & reach of the other ingredients in your formula. We then combine that micro-dosage with an anti-inflammatory corticosteroid. Studies suggest that when the dosage is reduced and combined with anti-inflammatory in the same formula, the risk of rebound is essentially eliminated and has been shown to reverse existing rebound congestion from previous high-dose decongestant spray use.
